QUEENS, N.Y. – The Queens College men's and women's outdoor track & field team continued their season as they competed in The Big Hurt meet hosted by Division I St. John's University Saturday afternoon at DaSilva Memorial Field.
In the men's long jump,
Hakeem Griffiths (Portmore, Jamaica) earned a third-place finish with a season-high jump of 5.84m.
In the women's Shot Put field event,
Zae Jackson (Queens, N.Y.) placed fifth with a season-high mark of 8.14m.
In the men's team 4x100 meter race, the team of Griffiths,
Daniel Fuzailof (Queens, N.Y.), Albert Wheeler (Mastic, N.Y.), and
Doris Desir (Port-au-Prince, Haiti) took first place with a season-best time of 43.97.
In the men's 100 meter dash, Desir placed first career-best time of 11.25 overtaking his previous best time of 11.72 set last season.
While Fuzailof placed second with a time of 11.41 to set a new career benchmark.
In the men's 110 meter hurdles,
Damilola Babalola placed second with a time of 15.85 to set a new career high.
In the women's 400 meter run,
Fatima Morrobel (Long Beach, N.Y.) placed fifth with a time of 1:05.85.
In the women's 4x400 meter relay, the team of Mahaillia Spencer,
Khareena Primus (St. Andrew, Grenada), Jacklyn Diel (Stony Brook, N.Y.), and Morrobel placed third with a time of 4:48.39.
In the men's 400 meter dash,
Myles Jackson (San Juan, Trinidad, and Tobago) placed second as he set a new career high with a time of 51.63, while
Juan Cruz Ladino (Cali, Colombia) placed sixth with a time of 54.00
