FLUSHING, N.Y. – Return to the friendly confines of QC Tennis Bubble to open the month of April, the Queens College men's tennis team
(11-3 overall, 3-1 ECC) earned a 7-0 sweep as the Knights defeated the visiting Wildcats of Daemen University (
4-11 overall, 0-2 ECC) Saturday afternoon.
The Knights earned a victory in all nine matches on the day to earn their 13
th straight victory over the Wildcats and their fifth straight sweep over their conference foes.
In doubles play, the #1 doubles duo of graduate student
Lluis Miralles Miro (Barcelona, Spain) and senior
Lucas Demuth (Buenos Aires, Argentina) defeated Alex Lumanog and Luis de Vuyst to the score of 6-1.
Queens would clinch the doubles points as the #2 doubles duo of junior
Roni Rikkonen (Tampere, Finland) and sophomore
Cameron Henricy (Las Palmas, Spain) earned a 6-1 victory over Phillip Vance and Zachary LaPlante.
The Knights would complete the doubles sweep as the #3 junior doubles duo of
Tim Ostheimer (Frankfurt, Germany) and
Francisco Gonzalez (La Plata, Argentina) earned a 6-2 victory over the pair of Rohan Chitanand and Adam Pasierb.
In singles play, Gonzalez would earn a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Pasierb at #6 court before sophomore
Philipp Uhde (Heidelberg, Germany) defeated Chitanand to the score of 6-2, 6-0 at #4 singles.
Queens would clinch the match at #2 singles as Henricy defeated de Vuyst to the score of 6-1, 6-1.
Miro would continue the winning route as he defeated LaPlante to the score of 6-2, 6-1 at #5 singles.
At #1 singles, Rikkonen defeated Lumanog to the score of 6-4, 6-2 to return to the wins column before Demuth completed the 7-0 sweep with a 6-2, 6-3 victory at #3 singles over Vance.

Somadi Druker and the Knights return to the road as they travel to Sparkill, N.Y. on Tuesday (Apr. 4) afternoon with a matchup against Saint Thomas Aquinas College Spartans in ECC play. First serve set for 3:00 p.m.
