Knights Open Outdoor Track & Field Season in Flushing

FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Queens College men's and women's outdoor track & field opened their 2023 season under rainy and windy conditions as head coach Greg Welch and the Knights hosted a meet for the first time in 10 years on the campus of Queens College.
 
Despite the gloomy conditions, the Knights wore the weather on their sleeves to get their season going. 
 
The women's 4x100 meter relay team of Bianca Hiltz (Southwick, Mass), Khareena Primus (St. Andrew, Grenada), Jacklyn Diel (Stony Brook, N.Y.), and Mahaillia Spencer took first place in the event with a time of 52.44. 
 
While the men's team of Hakeem Griffiths (Portmore, Jamaica), Daniel Fuzailof (Queens, N.Y.), Albert Wheeler (Mastic, N.Y.), and Doris Desir (Port-au-Prince, Haiti) took first place with a time of 45.86 in the 4x100 meter relay. 
 
In the women's 400-meter dash, Joy Leong (Brooklyn, N.Y.) earned a seventh finish with a time of 1:26.38.
 
In the women's 1500 meter run, Alexis Hall (West River, MD) placed second with a time of 5:47.36, Natalia Cuttler (Islip, N.Y.) earned a third-place finish with a time of 5:54.98 and Nicole Colombi (Wantagh, N.Y.) earned a fifth place with a time of 6:12.67.
 
In the men's 400-meter dash, Myles Jackson (San Juan, Trinidad, and Tobago) placed second with a time of 52.54, and Fuzailof placed fourth with a time of 53.50. 
 
UP NEXT: Head Coach Greg Welch and the Knights return to action on Sunday (Apr. 2) morning as the Knights travel to Kings Point, N.Y. as they compete in the Coach Omeltchenko Invitational hosted by United States Merchant Marine Academy.
