WEST BABYLON, N.Y. – On Monday afternoon, the East Coast Conference office announced week five of the baseball weekly award report sheet, and senior Anthony Fontana (Wantagh, N.Y.) earned Player of the Week, while lefty Liam Pulsipher (East Moriches, N.Y.) was awarded Pitcher of the Week. 

The Knights went 5-0 on the week shutting out Felician to begin the week before completing a four-game series sweep over Bloomfield College to improve thier record to 10-4. 

 
Anthony Fontana (Wantagh, N.Y.) | Player of the Week | 1B/DH
Over the course of a 5-0 week for Queens, Fontana stayed hot for the Knights as the senior went 10-16 AB, with nine RBI, one triple, three home runs, five runs scored, and two walks as he batted a scorching .625 with a slugging % of 1.313 as he recorded 21 total bases. The Wantagh native recorded three multi-hit games including back-to-back three-hit performances against Bloomfield Sunday afternoon. 


Liam Pulsipher (East Moriches, N.Y.) | Pitcher of the Week | LHP
Pulsipher went 1-0 on the week pitching a season-best of 7.1 innings allowing three hits, one walk, and five strikeouts in the 4-0 shutout victory over Felician University Thursday evening. The southpaw entered the game as reliver and would go onto restrict the bats of Felician to three hits, while working four clean innings to earn his second victory of the season and the Knights first shutout victory over Felician in program history.
 
UP NEXT: Head coach Chris Reardon and the Knights continue non-conference play as they travel to Garden City, N.Y. with a matchup against the Panthers of Adelphi University. First pitch set for 3:00 p.m.
