STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – On Sunday (Feb. 19) evening, the Queens College Indoor track and field team concluded the 2022-2023 Indoor Track & Field season at the Ocean Breeze Complex as the Knights competed in the East Coast Conference Championship.
Top Meet Highlights
Damilola Babalola began the championship on the right foot as he qualified for the 60 Meter Hurdles Finals with a sixth-place finish with a time of 9.22. But in the finals, Babalola would place eighth with a time of 9.68.
Senior
Myles Jackson (San Juan, Trinidad, and Tobago) competing in his final Indoor meet earned a third-place finish with a season-best time of 1:06.66 to earn the bronze medal in the 500 Meter Run.

In the same event,
Daniel Fuzailof (Queens, N.Y.) notched a career-best time of 1:09.56 overtaking his previous best time of 1:13.66 which the Queens native set in last year's ECC Championship meet.
While graduate student
Njehan Phillip (Brooklyn, N.Y.) recorded a career-best time in the 1000 Meter Run with a time of 2:51.43 overtaking his previous best of 2:52.58 set in the West Point Open on Jan. 8, 2022.
On the women's side,
Khareena Primus (St. Andrew, Grenada) paced the Knights with a third-place finish in the 200 Meter Dash with a time of 25.99. The 25.99 time would be a personal best for Primus who bested her previous mark of 26.88 set in last year's championship meet.
Primus stated,
"With this being my second indoor season here at QC, I am not only proud to earn third place, but also a personal best in the 200m."
Primus began the evening qualifying for the 60 Meter Dash final with a time of 8.06 which would be the top seven time in the qualifying round. While in the finals, Primus placed sixth with a time of 8.05, just missing her personal best time of 8.04 for the second time on the night.
While
Natalia Cuttler (Islip, N.Y.) earned a personal best of 3:31.18 in the 1000 Meter Run overtaking her previous best mark of 3:31.97 which she set earlier in this season in the Spartan Invitational on Jan. 13, 2023.
