FLUSHING, N.Y. – Winter sports start to wind down, while the spring sports are in final preparations to begin their new season. 
 
The men's and women's basketball open a three-game road stand beginning with non-conference action before returning to East Coast Conference action. 
 
The men's and women's indoor track & field teams are in the hunt for their first ECC Championship which takes place on Sunday. 
 
Lastly, the men's and women's tennis teams get their spring started in non-conference play.

Women's basketball went 1-1 on the week as they fell in a tough loss to Staten Island before a Raven Pitt (Valley Stream, N.Y.) buzzer-beater defeated the District of Columbia on Saturday on Alumni day.  The offense was led by freshman Brianna Davis (Bronx, N.Y.) who averaged 17.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks in the two conference games. 
 
Men's Basketball went 0-2 on the week as they fell to Staten Island and the District of Columbia. The Knights were led by Sunnie Diamond (Hiram, GA) who averaged 23.0 points on 51.5% shooting, 6.5 rebounds, 3.0 steals, and 1.5 blocks in the two games. 
 
The men's track and field compete in the Fasttrack National Invitational Friday afternoon in the final meet before the ECC Championship. In a meet of personal best set by three Knights, Hakeem Griffiths (Portmore, Jamaica) got the day started with a personal best in the 200m event with a time of 23.39, while Daniel Fuzailof (Queens, N.Y.) set a PR time of 24.10 in the same event led the way Friday afternoon.
