NEW YORK, N.Y. – On Tuesday (Jan. 24) morning, the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association announced the sixth weekly awards of the season, and Queens College men's basketball senior center
Tyler Carey (Bay Shore, N.Y.) earned his second Honorable Mention of the season.
Carey earned his first Honorable Mention back on Dec. 6.

The center is coming off a week where he averaged 19.0 points, 15.5 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks as he tallied two double-doubles on the week recording 38 points, 31 rebounds, four blocks, and four assists.
Carey began the week with his sixth double-double of the season with a career-high 22 points, 11 rebounds, and four blocks against STAC on Wednesday (Jan. 18) before concluding the week with 16 points, and a career-high 20 rebounds against Mercy on Saturday (Jan. 21).
The 20 rebounds are the most by an ECC player this season and the first 20-rebound performance in Knights' history since the 1976-77 season.
His two game performances would earn him his second East Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors.
