NEW YORK, N.Y. – On Friday (Jan. 20) afternoon, the Queens College men's and women's indoor track & field teams traveled to The Armory as they competed in the Ramapo College Season Opener.
The Knights competed against several Division II schools such Adelphi University, Bloomfield College, Georgian Court University, University of New Haven, Post University, Saint Thomas Aquinas College along with Division III host Ramapo College and several Division I schools such as Iona University, Fordhman University, Manhattan College and more.
Meet Highlights
Bianca Hiltz (Southwick, Mass) placed 12
th in the Women's 400 meters with a season best time of 1:04.07. While in the Triple Jump, Hiltz placed 13
th with a jump of 4.84m.
In the women's 600 meter event,
Fatima Morrobel (Long Beach, N.Y.) placed ninth with a time 1:49.95.
While
Natalia Cuttler (Islip, N.Y.) continues to have a personal best season as she set another PR this week a 2:43.30 finish in the 800m.
In the one mile run, rookie
Destiny Morley (Grove City, PA) set a personal bench mark with a time of 7:47.05.
In the men's 800 event,
Juan Cruz Ladino (Cali, Colombia) earned a personal best time of 2:08.67.
It was a career-high meet for
Zack Sow (Columbus, Ohio) as the sophomore set two personal bests on the day. In the long jump Sow put forth a jump of 6.01m before earning another PR in the triple jump with a distance of 11.32m.
While
Peter Wong (Flushing, N.Y.) set a PR in the 400 meter event with a time of 1:05.47.
UP NEXT: The Knights will now use the next two weeks to prepare for the Two-Day Rutgers Scarlet Knights set to start on Friday (Feb. 3) and finish on Saturday (Feb. 4) afternoon at The Armory.
