FLUSHING, N.Y. – With the past two years' end of the year banquet being put on hold, on Thursday (May. 12) evening, the Queens College Department of Athletics and Recreation celebrated the 2021-2022 year Student-Athletes with the Annual Knights Awards Dinner on the campus of Queens College held at LeFrak Concert Hall
The evening celebrated the highlights of the 2021-2022 athletic year for the Knights which included:
- 140 Student-Athlete with a 3.0 GPA or higher
- Close to 30 East Coast Conference Honors, 3 Player of the Year, 2 Rookie of the Years, 2 Coach of the Year honors
- Men's and women's tennis advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the 20th and 21st straight year
- Unveiled new soccer pitch and track earlier this week
- Men's basketball earned their first home playoff game since the 2010-11 season and finished fourth in the conference standing
- Baseball finished second in the conference standings and earned their third straight postseason appearance
Along with each team honoring their award winners, the department honored the most decorated male and female Student-Athletes of the year.
The baseball team was not in attendance as the Knights were competing in the East Coast Conference Postseason Tournament.
The final award of the evening, the Patrick Parker Award (a student-athlete who is "driven, goal-oriented, dedicated to their fellow student and sport, supportive, loyal, humble and selfless) was presented to Softball
