Cisco Headlines ECC Baseball Top Honors as Baseball Earn Six All-Conference Honors

WEST BABYLON, N.Y. – On Wednesday (May. 11) afternoon the East Coast Conference office announced the Baseball All-Conference Awards. Queens College freshman Marc Cisco (Long Island City, N.Y.) earned top accolades becoming the second ECC baseball player to be named Player and Rookie of the Year in the same season. The Knights saw six players named to the All-Conference teams with four players earning First Team honors and two being named to the Second Team. 
 
ECC_Chris_Reardon

While head coach Chris Reardon was named the league Co-Coach of the Year for the first time in program history.  After being voted to finish fifth and out of the postseason play, Reardon led the Knights to the program's best season in over 20 years. The Knights finished the regular season with a record of 24-15 heading into postseason play. Since taking charge in 2014, Reardon has led the Knights to their third 20-win season and just the fifth in program history. The Knights topped a .600 winning percentage (.615) for the first time since the 1998 season. Nn February 27th, Reardon earned his 300 win as a coach in the Knights victory over Felician University. 

The six All-Conference selections are the most since the 2019 season which saw the Knights earn five All-Conference honors. The four First-Team Conference honors are the most in program history. Under Reardon, the Knights have earned 22 All-Conference honorees, the most in program history. 
ECC_Marc_Cisco

Marc Cisco (Long Island City, N.Y. | Freshman ) – Player & Rookie of the Year | Second Baseman – First Team
 
Cisco put forth one of the best debut seasons in the Queens College baseball program and conference history as he claimed both honors as the league's top player and rookie of the year. The Long Island City native became just the second conference player to earn top honors since the 2019 season when LIU Post Joshua Loeschorn was named Pitcher and Rookie of the Year. 
 
Cisco is the first Knights to be named ECC Player and Rookie of the year in program history. 
 
The second baseman fell short of the triple crown as he led the league with nine home runs and 46 RBI while boasting a .429 batting average (second in the ECC). The rookie started and played in 39 games tallying 60 hits, 45 runs scored, 11 doubles, two triples, earned 29 walks, and four stolen bases with a .729 slugging percentage.
 
On May 9 against Mercy, Cisco wrote himself into the QC baseball program record book with the most RBIs by a freshman in a single season since 1998 when Mike Mangieri tallied 45 RBI. 
 
 The five-time ECC weekly award honoree has his name on the national leaderboard, as well, with his batting average currently ranking 21st in all of Division II.
 
 
ECC_Lou_Antos

Lou Antos (West Islip, N.Y. | Senior) – Third Baseman – First Team
 
Antos earned his second All-Conference honors as he finished the regular season with a team-high .430 batting average (first in the league), .748 slugging percent, 58 hits, 14 doubles, a triple, nine home runs, 44 runs scored, 36 RBI, 24 walks, and four stolen bases while playing and starting in 36 games all at third base. 
 
The senior was named ECC Player of the Week three times and earned NCBWA East Regional Player of the Week. 
 
ECC_Colin_Diez

Colin Diez (Levittown, N.Y. | Sophomore) – Utility – First Team
 
Diez earned his first All-Conference honors as he appeared in 33 games, starting in 31 games in left field. The sophomore notched a batting average of .343 with a .431 slugging percentage with 35 hits, two doubles, two triples, a home run, 22 runs scored, 29 walks, and six stolen bases. 
 
ECC_Julien_Arcos

Julien Arcos (Glenwood, N.Y. | Graduate-Student) – Starting Pitcher – First Team
 
On the mound, Arcos made 11 appearances, while starting in 10 games as he finished the regular season with a team-high five wins. The righty pitched 69.1 innings allowing 71 hits, 25 earned runs, 18 walks, and struck out a team-high 71 batters. 
 
On the season, he posted two complete games and one shutout in the victories against Lincoln and St. Thomas Aquinas. 
 
ECC_Matt_Filip

Matt Filip (Maspeth, N.Y. | Freshman) – First Baseman – Second Team
 
Earning the first baseman spot, Filip did not disappoint as he appeared in 39 games and started in 38 games. The rookie posted a batting average of .304 (.350 in league play), with 42 hits, 14 doubles (tied for first), five home runs, 25 runs scored, 39 RBI (second on the team), and earned 21 walks.
 
On May 9th, Filip was named to the ECC Honor Roll sheet. 
 
ECC_Jayson_Rodopoulos

Jayson Rodopoulos (Scarsdale, N.Y. | Junior) – Outfielder – Second Team
 
As the starting center-fielder and lead-off batter for the Knights, Rodopoulos appeared and started in 37 games on the season. The Scarsdale native boasted a batting average of .342 with 50 hits, nine doubles, three triples (team-high), three home runs, 15 RBI, 37 runs scored, and a perfect 16-16 in stolen bases (team-high) on the season. 
 
Rodopoulos was named ECC Player of the week on February 28th and named NCBWA East Regional Player of the Week on March 2nd
 
Postseason Play: The Knights shift their attention to the ECC postseason play as the number two seed beginning on Thursday (May 12) against #3 seed Mercy College at Mitchel Field. The first pitch is set for 3:00 p.m.
