KINGS POINT, N.Y. – On another rain-filled weekend, the Queens College men's and women's outdoor track and field team competed in the Coach Omeltchenko Invitational hosted by United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York.
Coach Omeltchenko Highlights
- Freshman Diego Folgado (Gandia, Spain) continued to shine in the Men's 100 M (11.45) and 200 M (23.26) as he placed first in both events
- Freshman Daniel Fuzailof (Queens, N.Y.) placed sixth in the Men's 400 M with a time of 55.83.
- Junior Myles Jackson (San Juan Trinidad and Tobago) placed fifth in the Men's 1500 M with a time of 4:42.70.
- Junior Steven Cuascut (Queens Village, N.Y.) placed third in the Men's 5000M with a career-best time of 16:04.87
- In the Men's 4x100 Relay, the team of Eric Oh (West Hempstead, N.Y.) Folgado, Keith Hyland (Levittown, N.Y.)& Albert Wheeler (Mastic, N.Y.) placed first with a time of 46.14.
- In the Men's Discus, senior Robert Skidmore (East Islip, N.Y.) placed first with a throw of 36.80 m.
- Freshman Khareena Primus (St. Andrew, Grenada) took first place in the Women's 200M with a time of 27.46.
- In the Women's 400 M, Bianca Hiltz (Southwick, Mass) earned first place with a time of 1:04.94, while Jacklyn Diel (Stony Brook, N.Y.) placed third with a time of 1:08.23.
- Alexis Hall (West River, MD) placed second in the Women's 800 M with a time of 2:48.78.
- The team of Diel, Fatima Morrobel (Long Beach, N.Y.), Hiltz, & Primus placed first in the Women's 4x400 Relay with a time of 4:29.35.
- In the Women's Long Jump, Hiltz earned second place with a jump of 4.56m.
- Freshman Hayley Matthews (Freeport, N.Y.) placed in the Women's Shot Put with a throw of 9.09m.
- In the Women's Discus Throw, Amanda Joseph (Queens Village, N.Y.) placed fourth with a throw of 20.64, while finishing second in the Hammer throw with a throw of 33.78m and third in Javelin with a distance of 18.54 m.
