WEST POINT, N.Y. – Competing after a two-week break, the Queens College men's and women's track and field teams returned to action as they competed in the West Point Twilight meet hosted by Army West Point at Shea Stadium on Thursday.
The Knights competed against several DII members as they matched up against conference foe St. Thomas Aquinas College, regional opponents in Dominican College, American International College, and competed against Division I members in Army West Point, St. John's University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Wager College and more.
West Point Twilight Highlights
- Freshman Khareena Primus (St. Andrew, Grenada) turned on the heat in the Women's 100m final as she finished in first place with a time of 12.51 besting St. John's and Army West Point.
- In the women's 400m final, the freshman duo of Natalia Cutter (Islip, N.Y.) and Nicole Colombi (Wantagh, N.Y.) earned a top 10 finish.
- The women's team of Primus, sophomore Bianca Hiltz (Southwick, Mass), freshman Jacklyn Diel (Stony Brook, N.Y.), and Hayley Matthews (Freeport, N.Y.) placed third in the 4x100 with a time of 1:00.23.
- In the Men's 4x100 Relay, the team of freshman Eric Oh (West Hempstead, N.Y.) Freshman Diego Folgado(Madrid, Spain), freshman Keith Hyland (Levittown, N.Y.) & Albert Wheeler (Mastic, N.Y.) placed second with a time of 45.35.
- In the Men's 100m final, Folgado placed fifth with a time of 11.94.
- In the men's 200m Oh placed fifth with a time of 24.40.
- Freshman Andrew O'Gorman (Melville, N.Y.) placed fifth in the men's 400m final with a time of 55.18.
