FLUSHING, N.Y. – On Tuesday afternoon, the Queens College men's tennis team swept all nine matches as they defeated Division I MAAC member Rider University Broncs 7-0 inside the Queens College Tennis Bubble. 
 
With the win, Queens improves their record to 7-4 overall, while Rider fell to 2-5 overall. 
 
The Knights won their second straight match over a Division I opponent as they extended their win streak to a season-high six games. 
 
Doubles Competition
 
The Knights led from the first match of the day and never let go as the #3 doubles pair of junior 
Mariano Bibiloni (La Plata, Argentina ) / sophomore 
Tim Ostheimer (Frankfurt, Germany) shut out their opponents Peter Komosinski/Dylan Lachmanen to the score of 6-0. 
 
Queens would clinch the doubles point as the #2 doubles duo of junior 
Kareem Rashad (Alexandria, Egypt) / junior 
Lucas Demuth (Buenos Aires, Argentina) defeated Vishal Ganeshan/Nicholas Salazar to the score of 6-1. 
 
It would be a sweep at doubles as the #1 doubles duo of
 sophomore 
Omar El Shehawey (Cairo, Egypt) / senior 
Moritz Borges (Hunxe, Germany) defeated Pablo Salar Carrera/Ja de Jaraiz Garcia to the score of 6-3. 
 
Singles Competition
 
Demuth wasted no time putting Queens up 2-0 as he defeated Ganeshan to the score of 6-0, 6-3 at #3 singles. 
 
Rashad put the Knights in the driver's seat as he picked up a 6-3, 6-1 victory at #1 singles over Salar Carrera. 
 
Bibiloni clinched the match for the Knights as he dispatched Komosinski at #2 singles to the score of 6-2, 6-0. 
 
At #4 singles Shehawey went to work quickly and never let go as he put away Lachmanen to the score of 6-1, 6-1. 
 
At #5 singles freshman 
Philipp Uhde (Heidelberg, Germany) continued his good work in singles play as he defeated de Jaraiz Garcia to the score of 6-2, 6-1 putting Queens one match away from a sweep. 
 
Senior 
Hugo Evangelista De Andre (Goiania, Brazil) would complete the 7-0 afternoon for the Knights as he took the first set 6-0 before Fredrickson made the Brazilian native work the second set victory. But Evangelista stood his composure and closed the second set with a 7-5 victory heading into Saturday's conference matchup.

Somadi Druker and the Knights return to East Coast Conference play as they travel to Sparkill, N.Y. with a match-up against St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartans Saturday (Mar. 26) afternoon. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m.
