FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Queens College women's basketball team will return to Fitzgerald Gymnasium for the first time since November 17 as the Knights continue East Coast Conference play Friday (Dec. 9) evening.
Following the conference game Friday, Queens will travel to Springfield, Massachusetts with a non-conference action game on Sunday (Dec. 11) against the Yellow Jackets of American International College in a makeup date of November. 20.
Scouting the Knights
- The Knights are 2-6 overall, 0-2 in ECC play, and are coming off a 0-2 week in conference having dropped two contests to D'Youville and Daemen last weekend.
- Queens is averaging 55.0 points per game on 39.2% shooting and is averaging 34.3 rebounds and 12.0 assists per game.
- Freshman Cecilia Lapertosa (Whitesboro, N.Y.) leads the offense averaging 13.1 PPG, 7.3 RPG. On the season, the rookie has three double-doubles with a career-high 24 points and 13 rebounds against D'Youville.
- While junior Khadija Demry (Brooklyn, N.Y.) is averaging 8.4 PPG and tallied a season-high 15 points in the victory over Alliance.
- On Monday (Dec. 5), The East Coast Conference office awarded Lapertosa her third Rookie of the Week honors in the fourth Women's Basketball Weekly Report of the Year. Link
- Lapertosa earned ROTW honors on Nov. 14 and Nov. 28.
- The Knights are 12-7 overall against the Redhawks and 6-3 at home. Last season the Redhawks swept the season series over the Knights.
- Against the Yellow Jackets, the Knights are 1-7 overall as they picked up their first victory over AIC last season at home with a 76-70 victory.

- They are coming off a 71-59 victory over Le Moyne Tuesday (Dec. 6) evening and will match up against Saint Anselm on Thursday (Dec. 8) evening before facing the Knights Sunday afternoon.
- As a team, they are averaging 63.9 points per game on 39.4% shooting and averaging 33.1 rebounds and 11.8 assists per game.
- Taylor Tomlinson leads the offense averaging 14.1 points per game and tallied a season-high 26 points in the victory over Le Moyne.
