Baseball Announces 2023 Road Schedule

FLUSHING, N.Y. –  On Tuesday (Dec. 27) afternoon, Queens College Baseball head coach Chris Reardon '98 announced the Knights 2023 season away schedule. 
 
The 2023 road game schedule will feature 29 games away from Flushing with seven doubleheaders including several opponents that made the 2022 NCAA Tournament. 
 
Last season Queens went 6-8 on the road but held a 5-2 record at neutral sites including a 3-1 record in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and a 2-1 record in postseason play. 
 
For the second straight season, Reardon and the Knights will open their season in Myrtle Beach as they match up against the two-time defending NCAA East Regional champions and NE10 champions in the Penmen on Southern New Hampshire University (2022 Record: 46-12) on Friday (Feb. 24) afternoon. 
 
On Day 2 of their Myrtle Beach trip, the Knights will match up against CACC member Post University Eagles (2022 Record: 25-27) on Saturday (Feb. 25) afternoon in their first doubleheader of the season. 
 
The trip will conclude against another CACC member in the Griffins of Chestnut Hill College (2022 Record: 20-24) on Sunday (Feb. 26) afternoon. 
 
The match-up against the Griffins will be the first one since the 2013 season when they met in the Sunshine State. 
 
Following the Myrtle Beach trip, Queens will trek to Shepherdstown, West Virginia as they compete in three non-region games hosted by Shepherd University. The Knights will open the trip with a matchup against Great Midwest Conference member Lake Erie College Storm (2022 Record: 6-37) on Saturday (Mar. 4) morning.  Both programs will be matching up for the first time against each other in program history. 
 
Following the conclusion of their game against the Storm, the Knights will match up against the host PSAC member Shepherd University Rams (2022 Record: 18-22-1) for their second game of the day. The trip comes to a close on Sunday (Mar. 5) against the Rams. 
 
The Knights will be meeting the Rams for the first time in program history since the 2018 season. 
 
Queens returns to regional play on Saturday (Mar. 11) afternoon as they open four-game series against CACC member Lightning of Goldey-Beacom College (2022 Record: 27-25) in a home-home series with a trip to Hockessin, Delaware. Saturday's doubleheader will be the first road to Hockessin since the 2017 season. 
 
The Knights make a trek to Palisades Park, New Jersey for a single nine-inning game against another CACC member in the Golden Falcon of Felician University (2022 Record: 26-22) on Tuesday (Mar. 14) afternoon. 
 
Continuing their play against CACC opponents and staying in New Jersey, Queens opens a three-game stand beginning in Bloomfield for a doubleheader against the Bears of Bloomfield College (2022 Record: 15-26) on Saturday (Mar. 18) afternoon. 
 
It will be a local trip to Garden City, N.Y. as they match up against NE10 members in the Panthers of Adelphi University (2022 Record: 30-15-2) on Tuesday (Mar. 21) afternoon. The Panthers are coming off a trip to the NCAA East Regional Tournament. 
 
East Coast Conference play officially opens on the road for Reardon and his squad as they continue their four-game series with a Saturday (Mar. 25) afternoon in Staten Island, N.Y. with a matchup against fellow CUNY member in the Dolphins of College of Staten Island (2022 Record: 11-25, ECC 4-15).
 
Following the opening ECC series, Queens returns to non-conference play as they make the trip to New Haven, Connecticut as they match up with NE10 member the Owls of Southern Connecticut State University (2022 Record: 31-15-1) on Saturday (Apr. 1) afternoon doubleheader. The Owls who finished the 2022 season with a record of 31-15-1 earned a trip to the NCAA East Regional tournament. The two sides are meeting for the first time since the 2020 season. 
 
The next road trip will see Reardon and his squad travel to Uniondale, N.Y. as they face off against two-time defending ECC champions and rematch of the 2022 ECC final in the Lions of Molloy University (2022 Record: 40-15, ECC 16-2) on Thursday (Apr. 6) afternoon and Friday (Apr. 7) afternoon. 
 
The Lions are coming off their second consecutive trip to the NCAA East Regional final.
 
Queens will travel to Lincoln, PA for a four-game ECC series against the Lions of Lincoln University (PA.) (2022 Record: 5-35, ECC 1-18) beginning on Friday (Apr. 14) afternoon before a doubleheader on Saturday (Apr. 15) afternoon. The trip will conclude on Sunday (Apr. 16) afternoon with a single nine-inning game. 
 
Following their series against the Lions, Queens travels to Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. on Saturday (Apr. 22) afternoon for a conference doubleheader against Mercy College Mavericks (2022 Record: 21-25-1, ECC 14-7).
 
The Mavericks made the ECC baseball tournament for the second season in a row in 2022. 
 
Queens will conclude the April road trips in New Castle, Delaware as they match up against the Wildcats of Wilmington University (2022 Record: 31-13) on Wednesday (Apr. 26) afternoon of the CACC in regional action.
 
The trip to New Castle will be the Knights' first trip against the Wildcats who made the 2022 NCAA East Region Tournament for the first time since the 2016 season.
 
The month of May opens in Caldwell, New Jersey as the Knights face CACC member the Cougars of Caldwell University (2022 Record: 15-25) on Tuesday (May. 2) afternoon in their non-conference game of the season. 
 
The regular season comes to a close in a four-game series against the Spartans of Saint Thomas Aquinas College (2022 Record: 23-23, ECC 14-7) who were the fourth team to make the ECC postseason tournament. 

The series begins on Friday (May. 5) afternoon in Pomona, N.Y. at Clover Stadium and will conclude on Sunday (May. 7) afternoon as the regular season comes to a close. 
 
The full season preview and roster outlook will be released in late February.
