Men’s Basketball Opens Two-Game Homestand Beginning Saturday Afternoon Against Holy Family

FLUSHING, N.Y. – Coming off a tough loss Wednesday afternoon, the Queens College men's basketball team will look to rebound off a tough three-point loss as they welcome the Tigers of Holy Family University to Flushing Saturday afternoon.

Scouting the Knights
  • The Knights are 1-2 on the young season having fallen in back-to-back games including a tough three-point loss to Felician
  • Queens is averaging 66.7 points per game on 41.9% shooting, are averaging 37.7 rebounds per game. 
  • Sophomore Sunnie Diamond (Hiram, GA) leads the offense averaging 15.0 PPG with a career-high 17 points. 
  • While senior William Ellis (Valley Stream, N.Y.) is averaging 13.0 PPG having recorded a season-high 16 points against Pace. 
  • On Monday (Nov. 14), The East Coast Conference office awarded Diamond a spot on the first Men's Basketball Weekly Report of the Year. Link
  • The Knights are looking for their first win over Holy Family in program history and have fallen in the first three meetings. 
  • Queens fell 73-65 last season in double OT as sophomore Jayden Seraphin (Lakeview, N.Y.) led the Knights with a career-high 21 points.  
Scouting the Tigers
  • The Tigers are 3-0 on the season and are coming off a 73-52 victory over College of Staten Island in their home opener.
  • Holy Family went 9-19 last season  
  • Malik Archer leads the Tigers' offense averaging 17.0 PPG and tallied a season-high 25 points in the season-opener victory over Franklin Pierce.
