This Week in Knights Athletics: Oct. 17 – Oct. 23

FLUSHING, N.Y. – The regular season for the fall sports enters is nearing its end with several East Coast Conference postseason spots up for grabs for men's soccer, women's soccer, and volleyball. Women's tennis has cinched a spot to the ECC Tournament.

Last Week's Recap:
 
Men's soccer went 2-0 last week as they shut out their opponents to the combined score of 5-0. The Knights tied the program record for most wins in a single season as they defeated Bloomfield on Saturday evening led by junior Leo Pinto's (Forest Hills, N.Y.) first career brace.  
 
The Knights went 0-1-1 on the week as they rallied back against Holy Family as senior Sara Messemer's (Whitestone, N.Y.) second goal helped Queens earn their first tie of the season. They would fall to #11 Saint Rose 4-1 but it would be a spirited comeback led by sophomore Julia Ragone (Centereach, N.Y.) goal in the second half as the Knights outshot the Golden Knights 8-7. 
 
Volleyball had the week off from competition. 
 
Cross Country competed in the SJC Invitational Saturday morning led by graduate-student Njehan Phillip (Brooklyn, N.Y.) fifth place among the men's side.  
 
Women's Tennis went 1-0 on the week as the Knights swept their fourth opponent of the season in a 7-0 victory over Dominican University of New York Friday afternoon.

Home Games:
  • Saturday (Oct. 22) – Volleyball vs. Daemen at 1:00 p.m.
  • Sunday (Oct. 23) – Men's Tennis vs. St. Michaels College at 10:30 a.m.
  • Sunday (Oct. 23) – Volleyball vs. D'Youville at 12:00 p.m. 
Away Games:
  • Friday (Oct. 21) – Men's and Women's Cross Country at Adelphi Short-Course Showdown at 2/3:00 p.m
  • Saturday (Oct. 22) – Men's Soccer at St. Thomas Aquinas College at noon
  • Saturday (Oct. 22) – Women's Tennis at District of Columbia at 1:00 p.m.
  • Saturday (Oct. 22) – Women's Soccer at St. Thomas Aquinas College at 2:30 p.m.
Home Spectator Policy:
  • Anyone not vaccinated or cannot provide proof of negative test result will not be allowed entry into the campus
  • All volleyball home games will take place in the Auxiliary Gym 
  • For continuous visitors (parents/relatives) of Queens College student-athletes, who will attend more than three home games a month, you must upload proof of vaccination or negative PCR test results within 7-days of entry through Cleared4. 
All home games will be live-streamed on the ECC Network and fans can follow along on live stats.
