Paquet Named ECC MSOC Offensive POTW; 5 Knights Named to Honor Roll Sheet

WEST BABYLON, N.Y. – On Monday afternoon, the East Coast Conference office announced that six Knights found a spot on the weekly award sheet for their respective sports. The men's soccer team earned three honorees, while women's tennis placed two and men's cross country team earned an honor roll spot. 
 
Men's Soccer

Offensive Player of the Week – Adolfo Martinez Paquet (Sevilla, Spain) | Midfielder
 
For the fourth time this season, Paquet has found a space on the ECC men's soccer weekly report sheet. The sophomore earned his second Offensive Player of the Week honors after being named on Sept. 19. 
 
Paquet tallied two goals and one assist for five points in the Knights' 2-0 week. The sophomore notched his fifth game-winner of the season in a physical battle against Holy Family as Queens earned a 2-0 win Tuesday evening. On Saturday evening against Bloomfield, the Sevilla native notched three points with one goal and assist as the Knights earned a 3-0 victory over Bloomfield for their 11th win of the season.

Honor Roll – Dario Giovanni Cruz (Guadalajara, Mexico) | Goalkeeper
For the fourth time this season, Cruz has found a spot on the men's soccer weekly report sheet. 
 
The senior led the Knights to two shutout victories earning his 10th and 11th win of his career. Against Holy Family Cruz made four saves on the evening helping the Knights earn a 2-0 victory. Against Bloomfield Saturday evening Cruz set the single-season program record for most wins earning his 11th win of the season as Queens won 3-0.
 
Honor Roll – Leo Pinto (Forest Hills, N.Y.) | Forward
Pinto netted his first game-winning goal of the season with his first career multi-goal game as he helped the Knights earn their 11th win of the season in the 3-0 victory over Bloomfield Saturday evening.
 
Women's Tennis
10_17_WTEN_Honor_Roll 
Honor Roll – Mariana Ling (Orlando, FL)
 
Promoted to #4 singles, Ling went 2-0 against Dominican as she earned her fourth singles of the season by defeating Ava O'Brien 6-2, 6-1. She began the day with a 6-1 victory at #2 doubles play.
 
Honor Roll – Maja Makal (Bialystok, Poland)
Makal earned her seventh win of the season as she earned 6-0, 6-1 over DUNY Rupkatha Mukherjee in the Knights' lone match of the week.
 
Cross Country

Honor Roll – Njehan Phillip (Brooklyn, N.Y.)
For the second straight week, the Brooklyn native has found a spot on the ECC Honor Sheet. Phillip placed fifth with a time of 28:25.67 in the St. Joseph's Invitational Saturday morning.
