Knights Indoor T&F Compete in the West Point Open

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Queens College men's and women's indoor track and field teams returned to action for the first time since their season opener on Dec. 4 as they completed in the West Point Open hosted by Army West Point Saturday afternoon. 
 
The Knights went up against Division I opponents such as Army West Point, Sacred Heart University, Fairleigh Dickinson University,  Saint Peters, and two regional Division II schools in American International College and Nyack College.
 
West Point Open Highlights
  • In the men's 1 mile run graduate student Njehan Phillip (Brooklyn, N.Y.) finished in sixth place with a time of 4:48.65 besting his time from the Crowell Open of 4:54.46.
  • In the Men's 400m dash, freshman Andrew O'Gorman (Melville, N.Y.) earned a seventh-place finish with a time of 55.04. 
  • Freshman Fatima Morrobel (Long Beach, N.Y.) earned an eighth-place finish in the women's 500M (1:27.24).
  • In the women's 800m final, Morrobel took sixth place (2:35.42).
  • Junior Robert Skidmore (East Islip, N.Y.) earned an 11th place finish in the men's Shot Put with a distance of 12.12m
 
UP NEXT: The Knights will return to action on Friday (Dec. 14) as they travel to Staten Island, N.Y. to take part in the 2022 Spartan Invite hosted by fellow East Coast Conference member St. Thomas Aquinas College. First event is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. start time.
