WEST BABYLON, N.Y. – On Monday afternoon, the East Coast Conference announced the sophomore
Robert Skidmore (East Islip, N.Y.) was named ECC Men's Field Athlete of the Week for his performances at the West Point Open on Saturday (Jan. 8).
While graduated student
Njehan Philips (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and freshman
Fatima Morrobel (Long Beach, N.Y.) earned honor roll spot for their performances.
Robert Skidmore (So.) Men's Field Athlete of the Week
Skidmore finished in 11th place in the shot put at the West Point Open with a toss of 12.12m. His throw was the third-best in the ECC this season. It is the first weekly award for the Islip native this season.
Njehan Phillip (Gr. ) Honor Roll
In the men's mile run, Phillip finished in sixth place with a time of 4:48.65 besting his time from the Crowell Open of 4:54.46.
Fatima Morrobel (Fr. ) Honor Roll
Morrobel placed sixth in the 800m (2:35.42) and eighth in the 500m (1:27.24) at the West Point Open. Her 800m time was third-best in the ECC so far this season.
UP NEXT: The Knights will return to action on Friday (Dec. 14) as they travel to Staten Island, N.Y. to take part in the 2022 Spartan Invite hosted by fellow East Coast Conference member St. Thomas Aquinas College. The first event is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. start time.
