BRIDGEPORT, CT – The Queens College volleyball team was unable to halt a strong Purple Knights attack as the Knights fell 3-0 to the University of Bridgeport on Wednesday evening at Hubbell Gym in East Coast Conference play.
With the loss, Queens moved to 2-10 overall, 1-2 in ECC, while Bridgeport improved to 7-4 overall, 2-0 in conference play.
How it Happened

- Trailing 20-8, Queens fought back as sophomore Leila Hadjeb (Queens, N.Y.) served two service aces in the Knights 5-0 run to cut the score down to 20-13.
- But the deficit would be too much as the Knights dropped the first set 25-17.
- The Knights came out flat in the second set and the Purple Knights wrapped up the second set 25-8 to take a 2-0 set lead.
- With Queens still struggling, Bridgeport jumped out to a quick 6-1 lead forcing a Knights timeout.
- Bridgeport would take a 19-6 lead before Queens attempted a comeback but the home side offense would prove to be too much to handle as the Knights dropped the third set 25-16 and fell 3-0.
