POMONA, N.Y. (May 1, 2019) - The Queens College baseball team could not hang on to an early lead on Wednesday (May 1) as the Knights fell to Dominican (NY) by a final score of 3-2 at PCU Park in Pomona.
Queens scored both of its runs in the top of the second inning, with
Jesse Spellman collecting a two-run single to bring home
Eric Roubal and
Ron Linsalato. However, the Chargers answered back with a run in the second, fourth and fifth innings while QC could not score any more runs in the contest.Â
Roubal and Linsalato both had two hits for the Knights in the loss with Spellman driving in the only runs for Queens.
Bryan Krolikowski pitched three innings in a starting role, yielding a run on two hits with two strikeouts.
Dimitri Papazoglou surrendered two runs in two innings while
Brandon Hoskins struck out three innings in his two innings of relief.
James McGee pitched a 1-2-3 ninth with a strikeout, as well.
Queens will now turn its attention to the final East Coast Conferece series of the year as the Knights square off with LIU Post beginning Friday (May 3) in Brookville at 3 p.m.
