Chloe Herzog netted her fourth hat trick of the season but the Queens College women's lacrosse team did not supply much more offense in a 21-6 loss to Molloy on Wednesday (Apr. 10) at Knights Field.
The rookie attacker won a team-high four draw controls and also picked up a ground ball and caused a turnover.
Patriece Ausili,
Lauren Gentile and
Sarah Kasson all tacked on a goal for the Knights in the defeat, with assists coming from Gentile and
Nikoletta Pravata. Pravata scooped up four ground balls while sophomore goalie
Jess Serpe led the Knights with five ground balls while also making eleven saves in net. Cat Monteleone led the team with two caused turnovers.
Molloy led by a 2-0 score before Ausili cut the deficit in half with just under four-and-a-half minutes played in the opening half, but the Lions scored 12 unanswered goals to close out the first half with a 14-1 lead. The Knights scored five of the final six goals in the contest with Herzog's hat trick coming in a span of eleven total minutes at the conclusion of the second half.
Amanda Reyes led the Lions with four goals while Brianna Wilson had a team-high seven points (two goals, five assists).
Queens will host Saint Thomas Aquinas on Saturday (Apr. 12) at 1 p.m. in the Knights' final home conference game of the 2019 season.
