FLUSHING, N.Y. (Mar. 26, 2019) -
Lauren Gentile's goal with just under nine minutes played in the first half proved to be the lone bit of offense for the Queens College women's lacrosse team as the Knights lost a 20-1 decision to seventeenth-ranked Mercy on Tuesday (Mar. 26) at Knights Field.
Gentile's tally, her seventh of the season, came after Queens (1-7, 0-2 ECC) had yielded the opening nine goals of the game to the visiting Mavericks (7-2, 2-0 ECC).
Maggie Iavarone tallied an assist on the goal for the Knights. Four players had a team-high two ground balls including
Shannon Gibbons,
Melanie Morillo, Nikki Pravata and goalie
Jess Serpe---who also had nine saves in net for Queens.
Erin Chalich, Hunter Isnardi and Katherine Sanchez each had three goals for Mercy in the victory.
Queens will next host Saint Michael's College on Saturday (Mar. 30) at 1 p.m.
