Flushing, NY- 30 Hits, 28 Runs, six home runs in an offensive onslaught for the Queens College Baseball team led the Knights in sweeping the Bears of Bloomfield College on Saturday from Hennekens Stadium. With the two wins, the Knights improved their record to 6-6-1, while the Bears moved to 0-14 on the season.
Game One:
  The Knights wasted little time in getting runners in scoring position as senior outfielder
Ron Linsalato (4-5 AB, 4 RBIs, HR) started his day with a double to center field before junior infielder
Joe O'Rourke (1-3 AB, R, BB) got walked to put runners on first and second. But Bears starter Brelin Dixon (0-3, 3.1 IP, 9H, 10ER, 2K) struck out junior infielder
Eric Roubal (3-5 AB, 2R) to escape from further damage. After taking a 2-0 lead in the bottom half of the second inning behind freshmen outfielder
Jon Strauss (2-4 AB, 4RBIs, 2R) sac fly and Linsalato single, the Knights brought out the power two innings later. In the bottom of the fourth, the Knights tallied nine runs on six hits led by two home runs in which one was a grand slam from freshmen catcher
Nick Font (1-2 AB, 4 RBIs, 3R, 2BB) and a three-run home run from Linsalato
 In the top of the fifth inning, trailing 11-0, the Bears refused to go away as they started to cut into the deficit. Queens starter
Michael Lamneck had run through the first four innings without any damage before Bloomfield started their attempted comeback. The Bears tallied six runs on two hits in the fifth inning as the Knights were unable to find the strike zone allowing four runs on four straights walks. With Lamneck struggling for his strike zone, red-shirt freshmen pitcher
Dylan Hughes was brought in to get out of the inning. But the reliever was unable to find his zone as he walked two straight batters to see his day come to a quick end. Freshmen pitcher
Bryan Krolikowski relieved Hughes and struck out the side to maintain an 11-6 lead.Â
The Knights continued to let their bats do the talking as they tacked on five more runs in the bottom half of the inning. Roubal kick-started the inning with a single before a catching error in the left field put runners on the corners. Freshmen
Jesse Spellman (1-2 AB, 3 RBIs, 3R, 2BB) brought home two runs with a single through the left side. After another walk to Font, next-batter Strauss wasted little time as he slammed his first pitch over the left field wall for his first home run of the season to extend the lead to 16-6.Â
Despite the Bears still tacking on run in the sixth and seventh inning, Krolikowski (2.2 IP, 3H, 5ER, 4K) had enough runs on the board to keep the lead as the Knights took take game one 16-12. Lamneck (W, 4.1 IP, 3H, 6ER, 3K) picked up his first win of the season.Â
Game Two:
    For the first time on the day, the Knights found themselves trailing 2-0 after the top half of the second inning. But Roubal (4-4 AB, 7RBIs, 3 HR, 3R) monster day was just getting started as he wasted no time in blasting a solo home run to bring the Knights within one.Â
In the bottom half of the third, the Knights piled on six runs off of seven hits to take a 7-2 lead. Following a two-out double from Linsalato, junior infielder
Louis Antos (2-5AB, RBI, 2R) brought home Linsalato with a single up the middle. After O'Rourke (1-2 AB, RBI, 3R, BB) got hit up by a pitch, next batter Roubal blasted another ball into orbit for a three-run home run over left field just shy of landing on the roof of the school building.Â
Queens continued to help their own cause as they tacked on more runs in the fourth and fifth inning. Senior starter
Jack Palma (W, 2-0, 7.0 IP, 8H, 3ER, 7K) pitched a complete game to earn his second win of the season with minimal trouble.
