MANCHESTER, N.H. - The #21 Queens College women's tennis team moved to 16-3 on the season with a 7-2 victory over Souther New Hampshire Saturday afternoon.
The Knights set the tone early, grabbing all three doubles matches. Angelika Sobiecka and Cami Abdallah took #1 doubles 8-2, while Andrea Samson and Frederike Börner captured #2 pairs by a score of 8-4. In #3 doubles, Anne Strating and Sumeera Kamil won 8-6.
QC won four of six singles matches, falling in just the #1 and #6 positions. Samson's victory at #2 singles clinched the match, as she won 6-1, 6-4. Sobiecka captured the #3 flight 6-3, 6-2 while Abdallah won #4 singles by a score of 6-1, 6-0. Börner picked up a 6-1, 6-4 win in the #5 position.
The Knights now wait to hear their fate for the NCAA Tournament on Tuesday, May 3 (8:30 p.m.) on NCAA.com.
