Box Score FLUSHING, N.Y. - The Queens College women's basketball team dominated the visiting Dowling College Golden Lions to the tune of a 79-41 win in East Coast Conference action. With the win, the Knights improved to 12-5 in conference, and clinched an ECC Championship berth.
The Knights were led by reigning ECC Player of the Week Madison Rowland, who posted 31 points in just 26 minutes of action. Queens got off to a quick start, jumping out to a 16-0 advantage, before Dowling connected on its first field goal with remaining in the first quarter. From there, QC led by as much as 46 during the game.
The Knights turned 22 turnovers into 35 points. Rowland also posted six rebounds, and five steals, while senior MacKenzie Rowland scored 17 points and grabbed a career high 21 rebounds, including 16 on the offensive glass. Senior Elisabeth Gully scored 10 off the bench.
On the glass, Queens outrebounded the Golden Lions 60-41, and held a 52-14 advantage on points in the paint. The QC bench also outscored Dowling's reserves 23-7. The Golden Lions were led by Krstina Surlan who scored 20 points.
