QUEENS, N.Y. - The 25th ranked Queens College women's tennis team continued to East Coast Conference action with a 9-0 victory over St. Thomas Aquinas Friday, improving its record to 4-0 and 3-0 in ECC play.
In 1st singles, junior Sumeera Kamil picked up a three set victory (6-7, 6-1, 10-6), while junior Angelika Sobiecka won 2nd singles in straight sets (6-3, 6-1). In 3rd singles, senior Andrea Samson dominated her match and picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win, while freshman Frederike Börner won 6-1, 6-1 in 4th singles. In 5th singles, freshman Line Sorsdahl Aasen won in straight sets 6-4, 6-2 and junior Nakia Miller won 6th singles 6-0, 6-0.
Samson and Kamil also took 1st doubles by a score of 8-6. Sobiecka and Cami Abdallah picked up a 8-2 in 2nd doubles, while Aasen and freshman Anne Strating won 3rd doubles in decisive fashion, 8-0.
The Knights are back in action Sunday afternoon at home against Roberts Wesleyan (12:00 pm).
