WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Queens College women's tennis team improved its record to 3-0 on the season after a 7-2 win over UDC.

UDC was selected third in the ECC Preseason Poll and are considered a strong candidate for the NCAAs this year. However the Knights were once again victorious against this strong opponent, only losing at 1st doubles by a very close margin and 1st singles.

The squad took five matches in singles, with victories for Andrea Sampson (2nd), Angelika Sobiecka (3rd), Camelia Abdallah (4th), Frederike Boerner (5th) and Nakia Miller (6th).  Sampson was the lone performer to not win in straight sets.

In doubles, the Knights got wins from Sobiecka/Abdallah (2nd) and Strating/Aasen (3rd).  Next up for Queens is the ITA East Regionals, beginning Sept. 19.
