#33 Queens Women's Tennis Handles #34 Chestnut Hill, 7-2

Flushing, N.Y. - In a battle of nationally-ranked women's tennis teams, #33, Queens trounced #34, Chestnut Hill, 7-2. Queens, who has never lost to Chestnut Hill, played their best tennis of the year in defeating their Eastern Regional rival.  The Knights improved to 12-2 with the win.

 

QC prevailed in 2 out of the 3 doubles matches. Jenna Plevako and Andrea Samson won at second doubles 8-2, while Angelika Sobiecka and Cami Abdallah triumphed, 8-3 at third doubles.

 

Queens went on to win five-out-of-six singles matches. #30 ranked, Plevako beat #31 Laurie-Anne Josso, 6-2,6-3 at first singles. Aylin Mehter won a hard fought match at second singles 6-3,6-4.  Andrea Samson, Sobiecka and Abdallah all prevailed in their matches as well.  

 

QC has another tough opponent in their crosshairs as they return to the court on Sunday, March 29, when they host #37 Goldey-Beacom.  The match with the Deacons is slated to begin at 2:00 PM.
