QUEENS, N.Y. - The Queens College women's tennis team advanced to the ECC Championship match Friday afternoon with a 5-0 victory over UDC.
The Knights set the tone for the match by taking all three games in doubles. Sumeera Kamil and Andrea Samson picked up an 8-4 win in 1st doubles, while Camelia Abdallah and Angelika won in 2nd doubles 8-6. Frederike Borner and Anne Strating won in 3rd doubles 8-4.
The match ended with victories by QC in 3rd singles, courtesy of Angelika Sobiecka (6-3, 6-0) and 6th singles by Nakia Miller (6-0, 6-1). The Knights led in three of the four other singles matches at the time of QC's victory, with the other tied.
The Knights take on NYIT, who advanced with a win over LIU Post, Saturday at 12:00 pm.
