IMANI DAVIDSON INTERVIEW

Flushing, N.Y. - The Queens College women's basketball team used a strong second half effort to turn a 29-29 draw into a 68-61 win in an East Coast Conference game at Fitzgerald Gym on Saturday.  Three Knights players finished in double-figures for scoring.

Over the first four-and-a-half minutes of action, it appeared Queens had redeemed itself for the loss to Roberts Wesleyan on Friday as the Knights jumped out to a 13-2 lead.  Imani Davidson scored five points, MacKenzie Rowland had a pair of baskets and Madison Rowland and Kristen Korzevinski each had a bucket.

The lead got up to 13 points when Amber Harrison put QC ahead, 20-7, with a layup at 11:49.  With six minutes remaining, Queens pushed the advantage from 10 points to fifteen on a Raychel Shannon three-pointer and a Madison Rowland basket.  The Wildcats closed out the half with a 15-0 run to even the score at 29-all at the break.

Queens took a 32-29 lead early in the second half on a basket from Korzevinski and a free throw from Madison Rowland.  Daemen would eventually tie the score at 37-all at the 16:11 mark.  The Knights took the lead for good on a Madison Rowland layup inside of 16 minutes.  The Rowland bucket started an 11-0 run over the next 2:09 of game time to put the game away.  QC pushed the lead up to 16 points before going on to win, 68-61.

Madison Rowland finished with a double-double of 21 points and 15 rebounds.  Davidson had 16 points and nine rebounds, while MacKenzie Rowland scored 11.   The Knights held the Wildcats bench scoreless.

The Queens College women's basketball team returns to action on Wednesday, February 4 when the face St. Thomas Aquinas in Sparkill, New York.
