Men's Soccer Falls to West Chester 3-0

West Chester, Pa. - When these two teams met in Flushing a season ago, they played to a 1-1 draw.  For the rematch in West Chester, Pennsylvania on Sunday, the Golden Rams defeated the Knights 3-0.  The Knights are now 0-2 on the season.

Glen Reid made his season debut for the Knights after missing the opener against Saint Michael's.  Kevin Giraldo and Navdeep Bains also saw their first action of the season for Queens.

QC's best scoring chance came in the 29th minute when Aitor Iriarte Gurruchaga got his head on a ball and sent it towards net.  The West Chester goalie made the save and the game remained scoreless.

The Golden Rams jumped out to a 1-0 lead late in the first half on a header from Max Adarkwah.  Jorge Artavia and Paul Sandoval also had first-half shots for Queens.

West Chester added a couple more markers in the second half for the 3-0 win.  Sandoval had another shot at goal that went wide, but Reid also took a shot that forced to Golden Rams' keeper to make another save.

The Queens College men's soccer team returns to action on Wednesday, September 17, when they open up East Coast Conference play against UDC in Washington, D.C.  The kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 PM
