Williamsville, N.Y. - The Queens College women's tennis team won a rain-shortened match, 5-0, over Daemen College in Williamsville, New York on Saturday. The location was changed and the match was shortened due to rainy conditions in western New York.
The Knights won both singles match by identical 6-0, 6-0 scores as Cami Abdallah and Sarah O'Leary competed at fifth and sixth singles, respectively. Queens won the match by getting all three points in the doubles flights. O'Leary picked up her first singles victory of the season.
The number one doubles combination of Sumeera Kamil and Yevgeniya (Jenna) Plevako were victorious 8-1. The second team of Andrea Samson and Abdallah were triumphant, 8-0 and the deciding point was earned by Angelika Sobiecka and Molly Fanelli, who won 8-0.
The QC women's tennis team is now 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the East Coast Conference. The team returns to action on Saturday, September 20, when they host UDC. The first serve is scheduled for 11:00 AM.
