(Flushing, N.Y.) - On the week following the
stellar performance of the Queens College Dance team that saw them
finish 20th nationally, we look back to this past fall
and highlight the community service the team did.
In October, the team traveled out to Tanner Park in Copiague,
New York to attend the sixth annual Alexander's Angels Buddy
Walk. This marked the third straight year that the team
participated in the event. The walk helps to raise awareness
for Down Syndrome.
Inspired by their past experiences with this event, this
year's team showed up early to help with the setup of the
event; before taking part in the walk itself. Additionally,
several members of the team worked the registration table, welcomed
participants and received donations; all in support of the
cause.
The team also gave a spirited performance alongside other dance
teams and theatrical troupes from around the area and spent time
with the familiar faces of the children and contributors from prior
years.
The QC dance team left the event high spirited knowing they were
able to play a part in bringing forth the greatest attendance this
event has yet seen. Furthermore, a generous donation was
given in the name of Queens College in order to foster the
foundation's growth.
