Box Score

Flushing, N.Y. - The Queens College men's soccer team used a pair of second-half goals to come from behind and beat District of Columbia, 4-3, in a game played on the Knights soccer field in Flushing on Thursday.  The game was originally slated for Tuesday.

Paul Sandoval got the Knights on board early as he scored an unassisted marker in the seventh minute, putting Queens up 1-0.  Nearly ten minutes later, it was Scott Lamont who scored and doubled QC's advantage to 2-0.

From there, the Firebirds responded with three unanswered goals, beginning in the 35th minute when Elio Hernandez found Bakary Coulibay who beat Sean Geoghegan to put UDC on the board.  The Knights led 2-1 at the half.

District of Columbia scored two goals in the second half to take a 3-2 lead.  Sam Rowden found Adam Spinks for the equalizer in the 47th minute and the game was even at 2-all.  The Firebirds took the lead when Felix Angerer took a shot that was deflected into the net off the defense.

Queens would show some moxie and rally for the win as Glen Reid connected with Tyler Iocco for the game-tying goal.  The Knights put the game away in the 67th minute when Reid scored his second game-winning goal of the season.

In the win, Queens outshot UDC 15-4 and took seven corner kicks to none for the Firebirds.  The QC men's soccer team returns to action on Saturday, October 28, when they host Dowling.  The kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
