(Orlando, Fla.) - Most people who visit Fitzgerald Gym during the course of the year are likely there to see one of the basketball teams, but there is another team that performs on that same floor that is leaving its mark across the nation, the Queens College dance team. The squad competed in the UCA & UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship held at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida this past weekend.
In an event that brought college from around the nation to one event to crown a college champion, the Queens College Knights finished 20th, nationally.
Dance team Head Coach, Shawn Garnier, reflected on his team's performance, "I am really proud of the effort the squad put out. To come in 20th with so many national teams there, it was impressive. I look forward to the continued improvement of the team."
People interested in seeing the Queens College dance team live in action, need only visit the campus as they perform at most home basketball games and special events around campus.
