Philadelphia, PA (November 17, 2012) – The Knights
women's basketball team took their first loss of the season
against the Holy Family University Tigers by a score of 67-48 on
Saturday.
The Knights (2-1) played a solid first half against a Tiger team
which was an NCAA Division II East Region Championship finalist
last season. At the half, the Knights were only down 34-29. The
reigning ECC Player of the Week - Knights senior Bria Jackson -
shined once again this afternoon netting a team-high 21 points with
13 of those points coming in the first half, including three
baskets from beyond the arc. Her teammate and last week's ECC
Rookie of the Week, freshman Mackenzie Rowland, totaled 14 points
on the day. She recorded 10 of her 14 points in the first half.
In the second half, the Knights were outscored 33-19, as Holy
Family (2-1) fired on all cylinders. In the half, the Tigers
received production from junior Guard Maggie Serratelli who made 4
field goals, a three pointer and made a free throw in the
2nd half to end her day with 12 points.
The Knights will next visit the University of
Massachusetts-Lowell Riverhawks at the Costello Athletic Center in
Lowell, Massachusetts on Sunday November 25th at 2
PM.
