The Queens College men's soccer team fell to East Coast
Conference rival LIU Post 8-2, in a game played in Brookville, New
York on Saturday.  The Knights now stand at 7-5-3 overall,
3-3-1 in the ECC.
QC got off to a very quick start, as they scored just 0:13 into
the match.  Glen Reid (Falkirk, Scotland/British School of
Houston) centered a ball for Danny Stoker (London, England/RSSKL),
who put it into the back of the net for his team-leading ninth goal
of the season.  The thirteen seconds scoring marked the
fastest time this season that the Knights have scored a goal.
Twenty minutes later, the Pioneers tied the game when Cecil
Turan scored the first of his three goals in the afternoon, coming
off an assist from Matias Ruiz.  Turan added two additional
markers in the first half and LIU Post led 3-1 at halftime.
The Pioneers would find the next again in the 51st
minute to extend their lead to 4-1 before Queens could
respond.  The Knights did answer, though, courtesy of Tyler
Iocco (New Hyde Park, N.Y./New Hyde Park) and Reid.
In the 58th minute, Reid put the ball across the
field to the left side and Iocco buried the ball in the back of the
net across the goalie, and Queens College cut the deficit to
4-2.  Post scored four more times in the game and pulled away
for an 8-2 win.
The goal by Iocco gave him four on the season, good for second
best on the team.  Reid's two helpers give him a
team-leading six for the 2012 campaign.
The Knights return to action on Wednesday, October 24 when they
place at the University of Wilmington at 3:30 PM.
