FLUSHING, N.Y. – Danny Stoker moved back to the striker position Monday afternoon and tallied four goals and one assist, helping lead the Queens College men's soccer team to a 16-0 triumph over visiting Lincoln (Pa.). Peter Touros and James Dukas added three goals and two assists each for the Knights (3-5).
Stoker (London, England) and Peter Touros (Bellerose, N.Y.) had two goals apiece in the first half of play to lift QC to a 4-0 halftime advantage. Stoker's third- and 45th-minute tallies sandwiched a pair of Peter Touros (11', 24') markers.
Sophomore Tyler Iocco (New Hyde Park, N.Y.; two first-half assists) opened the 12-goal second half for the Knights in the 58th minute of play off a pass from junior Scott Lamont (Edinburgh, Scotland), while Dukas (Forest Hills, N.Y.) came off the bench to tally all of his scoring in the final 28 minutes of the match. Kevin Vasquez (penalty kick) and Daniel Ospina (Fresh Meadows, N.Y.) added their first goals of the season, while Dele Akinyode (Brooklyn, N.Y.) registered two goals and one assist. Santiago Bedoya picked up one goal and one assist, while senior Juan Cano (Valley Stream, N.Y.) dished out two second-half assists in his first 2011 action.
Senior Demetrios Touros (Bellerose, N.Y.) played the first 57-plus minutes of the match, while junior Nelson Restrepo (E. Elmhurst, N.Y.) wrapped up play in net for Queens, which outshot the visiting Lions (07) by a 46-2 count on the afternoon.
Head coach Carl Christian's Knights are back in action Wednesday afternoon, when they travel to Caldwell (N.J.) College for a 4 p.m. kickoff.
