QC's Women's Tennis team continues their winning streak by
recording their 13th victory in a row, beating Molloy College
8-1! Taylor Barber and Daniela Celi led the
way at 2nd doubles with an 8-0 victory against Jeana Frey and
Gabrielle DiCroce. Laura Mocodeanu and Maria Mendes along with
Erika Goldsmith and Kim Xiong were all victorious in doubles to get
Queens off and running with a 3-0 lead.
In Singles, at the #1 position, Erika Goldsmith beat Jeana
Frey 6-1, 6-2. Daniela Celi was outstanding against
Gabrielle DiCroce, winning 6-0, 6-1 at 4th singles. Other
singles winners in straight sets were: Laura Mocodeanu, Taylor
Barber and Maria Perevezentseva.
Queens College's Women's Tennis team will represent
the school at the NCAA tournament in May for the 13th straight
year. Last May, Queens won the ECC championship (recording its 11th
title in the past 12 years). Queens has one more match this
semester on Thursday, October 21 against Pace.
