Joe made his collegiate debut on February 23, 2007 againstBriarcliffe, hurling two innings of scorelss relief in a 5-3Knights'' victory. He appeared in 11 games that year, earning theteam''s Outstanding Freshman award.

In 2008 he picked up his first win on February 24th when hethrew 7.2 innigs of four hit ball in a 10-8 win over Briarcliffe.He also beat Dowling with two thirds of an inning of scoreless workon March 22nd and finished the season with a 2-3 record and a 6.12ERA in 12 games.

At Plainedge High School Joe was a three time letterwinner andwas named all-conference in 2005 and Honorable Mention all-divisionin 2006.
