Alex Nikolic

Alex Nikolic has been an assistant coach for the Queens College baseball team since fall of 2015

Coach Nikolic brings with him almost a decade of experience coaching baseball, having gotten his start on the collegiate level as pitching coach for Queensborough Community College in the Fall of 2011. While at QCC he oversaw a staff that had multiple all region pitchers, as well four year transfers and two professional signings. Those teams also won back to back CUNYAC championships and had back to back regional appearances (2012-2013).

After QCC, Nikolic took an opportunity to join the staff of Queens College alum Rod Stefan at Old Westbury where he was the bullpen and conditioning coach during the ‘14 and ‘15 seasons. Those seasons saw OW win the regular season title for the Skyline Conference (2014) as well as it’s first conference championship and NCAA regional appearance in over a decade (2015) and saw multiple players sign professional contracts including an MLB draft pick.

Coach Nikolic also brings years of summer ball experience culminating with the 2016 summer spent as field manager of the Riverhead Tomcats of Hamptons Collegiate Summer League, where he was hired by the late GM Bob Furlong. Under their leadership Riverhead saw it’s first playoff appearance in five seasons. Since the summer of 2017 he has worked national events as a talent evaluator and coach for the Baseball Factory, based out of Columbia, Md.

Coach Nikolic is an active recruiter and member of the ABCA, and believes continuing education and collaboration are necessary components to finding best practices to help the team succeed.
