FLUSHING, N.Y. – Concluding their homestand Saturday evening, the regionally-ranked No. 9 Queens College women's soccer team welcomed Dominican University of New York Chargers to Knights Field for a non-conference tilt.
The duo of senior Ava Angiuli and sophomore Ana Impellizzeri recorded their first goals of the season, while senior Samantha Hines-Hirsch recorded a season-best seven saves as the Knights earned a 2-0 shutout victory over the Chargers.
Queens improves to 4-2 overall on the year.

In a match that saw the Knights outshoot the Chargers, 28-8, the home side dictated the passage of play throughout the contest.
Queens wasted no time putting the Chargers under pressure as they saw three offside calls cancel scoring opportunities, while recording two shots, including one on target, in the opening 15 minutes of the contest.
But as the Chargers started to shift momentum, they tallied two shots, including one on goal, in the 19th minute of play but were denied by a timely save from Hines-Hirsch.
The Knights would break through in the 30th minute of play as rookie
Mia Hanson delivered an inswinging corner kick for Angiuli to head home her first goal of the season and put Queens up 1-0.
Queens would outshoot Dominican, 8-3, in the first half as they took a 1-0 lead into the halftime break.
Just 46 seconds into the second half, sophomore
Natalie Rodgers nearly doubled the home side's lead, but a timely save from the Chargers would keep the 1-0 lead intact.
The Chargers would take over as Hines-Hirsch was called upon to make four saves over the next 20 minutes of play to keep the 1-0 lead intact.
Queens' offense continued to press the Chargers' defense as they recorded a total of 20 shots and 11 shots on goal while looking to put the game away.
But as Hines-Hirsch recorded her fifth save of the contest, Queens pressed once again.

Angelina Quezada, Rodgers would connect with Impellizzeri, who found the back of the net as the Knights took a 2-0 match lead and earned their fourth shutout of the year.
