COLONIA, N.J. – In the fourth East Coast Conference weekly report of the season, two Queens College softball student-athletes earned conference recognition. Rookie right-handed pitcher
Nellie Donahue (Levittown, N.Y.) and junior
Olivia Wanser (Westbury, N.Y.) were named to the Honor Roll sheet.
It is the first honor for both Knights this season.
Honor Roll
Donahue went 1-1 on the week, pitching 11.1 innings while allowing 13 hits, seven earned runs, and three walks, with 11 strikeouts. Donahue held Ashland scoreless for four straight innings and recorded a career-best seven strikeouts on March 9. She later earned her first career victory against Edinboro, allowing five hits and four earned runs while striking out four to help Queens secure its first win of the season.
Honor Roll
Wanser concluded the Florida trip with a team-best .539 batting average, .563 on-base percentage, and .769 slugging percentage. She totaled seven hits, including three doubles, with one walk, one run scored, and three RBI. Wanser recorded a hit in all five games with two multi-hit performances and 10 total bases. On March 12 against Edinboro, she recorded her 100th career hit and later went 2-for-3 with a double, one run scored, and two RBI in a win over Lake Erie.
Next Pitch
The Knights' home opener is set for Thursday, March 19, as they welcome the Caldwell University Cougars. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
