Match Recap – Queens 0, D'Youville 3 (Set Scores: 15-25, 14-25, 23-25)

Queens fell behind early, trailing 12-6, before a pair of kills from White and a service ace from sophomore defensive specialist Olivia Hyman (Forest Hills, N.Y.) parked a 5-2 run, pulling the Knights within three at 14-11. However, errors proved costly, allowing D'Youville to regain control and take the set 25-15 for a 1-0 lead in the match.

In the second set, the Knights stayed close, trailing by just two at 14-12, but with the Saints' offense continuing to fire in rhythm, Queens dropped the set 25-14, as D'Youville extended their lead to 2-0 in the match.

The third set was the most competitive of the match, featuring 11 ties and three lead changes. Trailing 9-8, Queens capitalized on two Saints service errors, while an ace from Hyman and a kill from senior middle blocker Lindsay Osterhoudt (Orlando, Fla) sparked a run that gave the Knights a 12-10 lead.

Despite multiple surges from Queens, D'Youville continued to respond, keeping the set tightly contested. With the score knotted at 17-17, the Saints strung together a crucial 4-0 run, which proved to be the difference. The Knights battled to the end but ultimately fell 25-23, as D'Youville closed out the match and took the first meeting of the season.
