AMHERST, N.Y. – East Coast Conference action tipped off Friday evening in Amherst as the Queens College men's basketball team squared off against defending ECC champions and No. 3 ranked Daemen University Wildcats inside Lumsden Gymnasium.
Senior forward
Tahj-Malik Campbell (Philadelphia, PA) and junior guard
David Teele (Harlem, N.Y.) combined for 24 points to lead the Knights, but the Wildcats controlled the night and took the first meeting of the season, 76–51.
GAME RECAP
Queens opened the contest trading baskets with Daemen, taking an early 8–6 lead behind back-to-back scores from Campbell at the 16:11 mark.
However, a shooting slump allowed the Wildcats to respond with an 11–0 run from 15:43 to 12:02, putting Queens in a 17–8 hole.
Campbell halted the drought with consecutive layups to bring the Knights within five, 17–12, with 9:57 remaining in the half.
But Daemen countered with a 21–11 stretch to close the period and carried a 38–23 advantage into halftime.
In the second half, Queens was held to 25.7% shooting from the floor, while Daemen shot 48.1% to maintain control and secure the victory in the ECC opener.

- Campbell posted 12 points, eight rebounds, three blocks, and one steal.
- Off the bench, Teele delivered a career-best 12 points along with two rebounds, two steals, and one assist.
- Rookie forward Henri Mennander (Helsinki, Finland) added six points, five rebounds, one block, one steal, and one assist.
NEXT GAME
The Knights conclude their road swing on Sunday, December 7, when they travel to Buffalo to take on the D'Youville University Saints in ECC play. Tipoff is set for 3:00 p.m.
