Lamy Goes Undefeated as Women’s Tennis Battles Stony Brook

STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Concluding their final out-of-division I matchup of the year, the Queens College women's tennis team traveled to Stony Brook for a match-up against DI Stony Brook University Seawolves Saturday afternoon.
 
The #2 doubles pair of graduate student Eva Rivoal (Saint Denis de Pile, France) and sophomore Apolline Lamy (Toulouse, France) would earn the Knights' lone doubles victory of the day before Lamy concluded the undefeated day with a two-set victory at #3 singles to earn the Knights lone point of the day as Queens fell to the final score of 6-1.
 
With the loss, the Knights moved their record to 12-4 overall on the year.

Doubles Play

In doubles action, the #1 duo of senior Maja Makal (Bialystok, Poland) and junior Saga Berggren (Uddevalla, Sweden) fell to Mia Palladino and Elena Lobo-Corral to the score of 3-6.
 
While the #3 pair of senior Ana Tarbujaru (Valcea, Romania) and graduate student Kyra Bergmann (Forest Hills, N.Y.) fell to Cornelia Syversen and Darian Perfiliev in a tough loss to the score of 5-7.
 
But the duo of Rioval and Lamy would earn a shutout victory over Debby Mastrodima and Sara Medved to the score of 6-0.

Singles Play

Lamy would earn the lone victory in singles play as the sophomore defeated Perfiliev to the score of 6-2, 6-1 to complete the day.

NEXT MATCH

The Knights conclude the regular season on Monday (Apr. 22) afternoon as they welcome the Eagles of Post University to town. First serve is set for noon.
