Women’s Tennis Announces 2024 Spring Schedule

FLUSHING, N.Y. – After finishing with the fall portion with an overall record of 8-1, the Queens College women's tennis team has announced the spring 2024 season schedule.

Head coach Alan Nagel and the Knights will get set for a nine-match schedule as they look to bolster their season resume with a goal of returning to the NCAA Women's Tennis Tournament set to take place in May.

Last season the Knights missed the NCAA Tournament for the first time in more than two decades as they saw a streak of 21 straight appearances to the Big Dance come to an end.

The 2024 spring schedule is loaded with seven Division II East regional opponents and two local Division I opponents to prepare for the opportunity to return to the NCAA Tournament.

Nagel and the Knights open the 2024 portion against the Ravens of Franklin Pierce University who are 3-6 overall on the year as they host the NE10 foe on Saturday (Feb. 24) evening in Flushing.

Queens will then match up against Division I foe Fairleigh Dickinson University Knights in a battle of the Knights affair as they host the DI foe on Wednesday (Mar. 6) afternoon.

Following the out-of-division foe matchup, the Knights welcome CACC member Griffins of Chestnut Hill College to town on Saturday (Mar. 9) evening. The Griffins finished the fall with an overall record of 9-5 as they advanced to the CACC Semi-Finals round.

Queens will host the Rams of Jefferson University on Friday (Mar. 22) afternoon who finished 2023 with a record of 13-5 as they advanced to the CACC final match.

After four straight home matches to begin the year Nagel and the Knights will hit the road to Wilmington, Del on Sunday (Mar. 31) afternoon against CACC member Wildcats of Wilmington University who finished the fall with an overall record of 11-1 and clinched their third straight CACC Championship crown.

Following the road trip, the Knights will conclude their home portion of the schedule with three straight home matches.

Queens will play host to another CACC member in the Eagles of Post University on Thursday (Apr. 4) afternoon who concluded the fall with a record of 9-5.

Following the Eagles, the Knights welcome the Panthers of Adelphi University, NE10 member on Thursday (Apr. 11) afternoon. The Panthers enter the spring with a record of 11-1 and are coming off winning their first NE10 Championship crown since the 2017 season.

The homestand officially concludes on Saturday (Apr. 13) afternoon as Queens host CACC member Lightning of Goldey-Beacom College who finished the fall with a record of 2-9.

Queens will travel to Stony Brook, N.Y. on Saturday (Apr. 20) afternoon to conclude the spring regular season as they match up against D1 CAA foe Seawolves of Stony Brook University.
