COLCHESTER, VT – Continuing non-conference play with a trip to Colchester, Vermont, the Queens College men's basketball team matched up against the Purple Knights of Saint Michael's College inside the Ross Sports Center Tuesday evening.
Senior guard
Nasan Ayala (LeFrak City, N.Y.) notched a career-high 16 points to lead the Knights' offense, but with the team trailing by one, and 10 seconds left Queens would get a good look for the game-winner, however, the Purple Knights defense would defend the final seconds as Queens fell short to drop the non-conference contest to the final score of 57-56.
GAME RECAP
It would be a back-and-forth game as both teams opened the game trading buckets and with the Knights trailing 6-5, Queens would take a 10-5 lead behind a three-pointer from senior guard

With Queens continuing to hold Saint Michael's without a made field goal since the 10:52 mark, a jumper from Lindo would put the Knights up by three, 49-46 at the 3:51 mark.
But with the Knights in foul trouble, the home side would use the charity stripe to get back into the game. Following two made free throws from the Purple Knights at the 3:12 mark saw them get within one, 49-48, Byrd would go 1-of-2 at the line to put Queens' back up by one, 50-48 at the 2:49 mark.
